Really my portfolio is of no real use anymore, anyway. Everything I have ever learned how to do or mastered has been shipped overseas. Pay scales here can’t support Americans anymore but a quarter of what we need to survive is a small fortune in other countries and will get you 5 of me. Of course every time someone says it’s terrible that all the work is going overseas they immediately bitch about how much American businesses have to charge to cover ever escalating costs and turn around and send their work overseas… see a problem with that.
So that brings me back to why I don’t look for a regular paycheck; what’s the point? Americans won’t stop buying goods not made here, and the government won’t raise tariffs on the goods coming in to even out the playing field. Who loses, well Americans who work in the production sector, or rather “worked”. How does the Government respond? It raises taxes on every American not already a billionaire (a Flat Tax would have been far more effective). Hmmmm nothing like punishing the people who didn’t do anything wrong, but then reward the worst segment of society with bailouts that even our grandchildren will end up paying through their kids, kids. It’s good to be the king, I guess… I wouldn’t know though.
